About Cool Kaftan

Cool Kaftan is a family-run business based near Cardiff, Wales.

The business began through my lifelong love of kaftans, traditional clothing and colourful batik designs. I am originally from Malaysia, where kaftans and beautifully patterned garments have been part of my life from a young age.

Today, I design and select our kaftan collections, while my husband manages the technical and online side of the business. Together, we work to bring our customers distinctive clothing that is comfortable, elegant and full of character.

Beautiful Fabrics and Traditional Craftsmanship

Many of our kaftans are handmade and hand-finished using carefully selected fabrics.

Our collections include fine cotton kaftans as well as beautifully soft, high-quality rayon designs. Many styles are generously cut and available in one flexible size designed to fit a wide range of body shapes and sizes.

A number of our patterns and motifs are hand-painted or hand-printed using traditional batik techniques. This process uses wax and specialised tools to create intricate patterns before colour is applied to the fabric.

The result is a beautifully individual garment with its own character, detail and charm.

As many items are created using traditional methods, slight variations in colour, pattern placement and finish may occur. These natural differences are part of what makes each garment unique.
